Due to the lack of road and train facilities, the best way to reach Lakshadweep is by air. But, there will be no direct flights to reach its islands. The nearest airport to get here is Cochin International Airport. Flights come here from many cities in India and even from foreign countries. Lakshadweep has only one airport located at Agatti Island. There are Air India flights from Cochin to Agatti. Reaching Agatti from Cochin takes one and a half hours, and these flights operate only six days a week. Helicopter services run yearly if you want to go to Kavaratti Island from Agatti. During the monsoon, one can go to Bangaram from Agatti. If you want to see the islands of Lakshadweep, you must obtain a tourist permit from Kochi.

How to Reach Lakshadweep From Kochi
Lakshadweep Island can be reached by ships and flights operating from Kochi. Kochi is the gateway to Lakshadweep, where people can come for tourism. Agatti and Bangaram islands can be reached by flight from Kochi. Indian Airlines operates flights from Kochi. Onward flights are available from Kochi to most airports in India and abroad. There is also an airstrip on Agati Island itself. Boats are available from Agatti to Kavaratti and Kadmatt during the fair from October to May. Agatti to Kavaratti can be reached by helicopter if helicopters are available during the monsoon season.
Seven passenger ships ply between Cochin and Lakshadweep islands – MV Kavaratti, MV Arabian Sea, MV Lakshadweep Sea, MV Lagoon, MV Coral, MV Amindivi, and MV Minicoy. It takes approximately 14 to 18 hours to travel to these islands. The ship has multiple classes, like A/C First Class with two berth cabins, A/C Second Class with four berth cabins, and Push Back/Bunk Class with A/C seating.
Let us tell you that entry into Lakshadweep is restricted, and before going here, a permit is required from the Lakshadweep Administration located in Kochi. For an entry permit to Lakshadweep, one must first download a clearance certificate and get it cleared from your local police station.

How to Reach Lakshadweep from Delhi : Lakshadweep Tourism
There is no direct means of transport between New Delhi and Agatti Island. The cheapest way to reach Agatti Island from New Delhi is by train to Ernakulam Junction and then by flight to Agatti Airport. This way, reaching Agatti Island from New Delhi takes approximately 46 hours and 40 minutes. The fastest way to reach Agati Island from New Delhi is by flying to Kempegowda International Airport, Cochin International Airport, and Agati Airport. This method takes 14 hours and 25 minutes. According to us, the best way to reach Agatti Island from New Delhi is to fly to Cochin International Airport and then to Agatti Airport. Doing this will take 14 hours and 35 minutes to reach Agatti Island from New Delhi.
